Noise nuisance: Acloud deploys its acoustic clouds in corporate environments
Noise is the primary nuisance cited by employees in open-plan spaces. A review of one year of installations and what they have taught us.
What companies require
Demand rarely arises during the fitting-out phase. It occurs later, when the floor space is occupied, teams are complaining, and video conferencing has become inaudible.
This is good news on one point: the room is in use, and therefore measurable as it is actually experienced.
Three locations, three treatments
In an open space, the background treatment is performed using suspended acoustic clouds distributed across the entire surface: it is the general ambient level that is reduced.
In meeting rooms, the challenge is intelligibility, not volume: fewer objects, better placed, to eliminate reflections between opposing walls.
In the corporate restaurant, everything depends on a ninety-minute period of high occupancy, with hard floors and bare ceilings. It is the location where the before/after difference is the most dramatic.
No-work condition, entry requirement
Almost all of our clients lease their premises. Drilling into a false ceiling, gluing a panel to a wall, or modifying the structure is often contractually impossible.
Our objects are suspended by cables, can be moved when the layout changes, and can be taken with the company at the end of the lease. This is what makes the decision easy to make.
